What is a Unit?

After entering Hanbat National University in 2019, not only credits but also “units” must be filled to graduate. HBNU introduced the C+U200 system to build global experts with basic core competencies of “5C” (Communication, Collaboration, Critical thinking, Creativity, and Computational thinking) in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The C+U200 system aims to foster students to create future values by participating in extracurricular programs, making up some parts that cannot be equipped with curricular programs. Students can meet 130 credits and 70 units through the extracurricular programs. If so, what do we have to do to get the 70 units for graduation?
We can receive units by participating in extracurricular education programs, club activities, obtaining certificates, volunteer activities, participating in university or department events, and reading books. HBNU divided these extracurricular activities into six core competencies to develop six competencies. The six core competencies consist of personality ethics, communication, problem-solving, practical expertise, leadership, and global. You can check the extracurricular activities and certificates for each of the six core competencies to receive units in detail by entering the QR code below.
In order to receive and manage units, we have to use the website “H-CAN Core Competency Management System.” If you enter this website, there are various menus at the top. First of all, you can apply for the program you want to participate in. In addition, you can get units by performing the extracurricular education programs mentioned above and registering your personal performance. There is also a menu called “Unit Leaflet” in the Unit Guidance menu, where you can check the criteria for unit assignment according to the completion of the extracurricular course at HBNU. If you enter the “Extracurricular Scholarship” menu, you can also check the participant’s rewards and scholarships that you can receive when you participate in a lot of extracurricular courses. Finally, to check the unit you have accumulated, you can enter the “My Page” menu.
