           How do you usually take care of your hair? Do you feel uncomfortable because of dry hair? Do you have a painful experience when you brush your tangled hair? If you do, then, I recommend this article which introduces different methods of washing and drying hair, using various hair products, and preventing gray hairs. Also, we will discuss the bad habits that can have a negative effect on your hair.

  • How to wash and dry your hair

           Brush your hair to remove the dust before washing your hair. After soaking your scalp and hair with lukewarm water, using an amount of shampoo about the size of a 500 won coin, you can make a foam by massaging your scalp gently, using your fingertips. Then use plenty of warm water to rinse it thoroughly, so that there is no residue. When you dry your hair, the best way is to dab it with a towel to remove the water and then dry it with cool air. (However, dust can stick to your hair if you leave it to dry naturally. Moreover drying with hot air can easily damage your hair, so it is good to dry it from a distance of 10cm from the scalp first.)   • Hair products used before drying: Hair Treatment, Hair Conditioner, and Hair Pack

No matter how famous the hair products you use are, if you use a product that does not suit you, they can still have a large impact on your hair loss or hair damage. Therefore, you have to choose your products carefully.

           Typically, there are hair treatments, conditioners, and hair packs that are used before drying. Hair treatment is a product to prevent hair damage and to play a major role that supplies protein and reinforces the weak parts of your hair. After shampooing, wipe the moisture lightly and spread it evenly over your hair, except for your scalp. Wait 5-10 minutes and then, wipe it clean. Hair conditioner is a product that gives proper oil to your hair to make it softer. After shampooing, spread it over your hair and wait 1-3 minutes before washing it thoroughly. A hair pack is a product for moisturizing and nourishing hair that has been damaged due to dyeing, perms, or styling. It has a type that can be washed and dried immediately. Also, hair packs can usually be applied quickly and then dried immediately, so this is preferable to people with busy lives.

  • Hair products used after drying: Hair Essence, Hair Lotion, and Hair Oil

           There are hair essences, hair lotions, and hair oils that can be used after drying. Hair essence is an oil-based moisturizer that provides and maintains moisture within your hair. If you have normal damaged hair, you use it only once with 10 to 15 percent moisture, but if your hair is damaged, then you can use it several times. Essence can be used by putting 2 to 3 drops on your palm and then rubbing it onto the ends of your hair, and the effect is different, depending on the condition of your hair. I recommend using products with oil if your hair is split, and with moisture if your hair had been damaged by dyeing or perm. Hair lotion has great hair protection effects, and prevents rough damage and split ends. If you use it first, then it is quicker to dry because of the lesser amount of moisture. Also, if it is difficult for you to choose hair products, it can be an effective way to use a mild baby lotion for split ends. Hair oil is a product that forms a natural coating film to prevent the loss of nutrients, and protects from damage caused by ultraviolet rays and heat. Baby oil gives moisture and gloss to your hair, and aroma oil is effective in preventing excessive secretion of unnecessary natural oils, such as sebum, by contracting the pores on your skin.

  • How to manage gray hairs

           Mostly gray hair is hereditary, but stress, lack of nutrition, drinking and smoking are also causes. If you pull out gray hairs, you can get hair loss because of stimulation to the scalp, so it is good to cut close to your hair roots or to use hair dye. In order to prevent gray hair, you should eat black foods which are good for your health, such as black beans and kelp, minerals, and vitamin B12. In addition, you should avoid heavy drinking and smoking, and also massage your scalp with a round comb.

           I hope these methods stop you from getting stressed about damaged hair. I think these habits are enough to change your quality of life and protect your hair. So, let’s practice looking after ourselves together from now on.
