Hanbat National University is a prestigious university that specializes in industrial and academic cooperation in Korea, and is generating the highest industrial and academic cooperation value in Korea by utilizing various industrial and academic cooperation infrastructures.
The university was selected for major national policy projects such as the Industrial-Academic Cooperation Centered College Development Project, the Best University in University Comprehensive Evaluation, the Excellent University in Innovation Evaluation of National Universities, and has “Global Standard University of Industrial Innovation” as its vision, and aims to be developed into a prestigious university with international competitiveness.
In order to provide life-long education to the Korean people, Daejeon Technical College developed into a four-year open university known as Daejeon Open University. This was based on the ideology of life-long education in developed countries such as England in the United Kingdom. In spite of the challenges of the time, Daejeon Open University still developed into a 4-year open university
Hanbat National University was established on May 20th, 1927 in Hongseong. It was sanctioned by the people of Chungcheong province to spread the spirit of national education, and became the Hongseong Public Industrial Training School in Hongseong, Chungnam. In 1935 the university relocated to Samseong-dong, Dong-gu, Daejeon at the same time as Chungcheong provincial government office. It tried to nurture talented people with a great mission for national education in spite of the difficult times of the Japanese Colonial period.
