□ Hanbat National University (President Oh Yong-jun) Professor Cho Jin-gyun of the Department of Building Systems Engineering received a Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Commendation in recognition of his contributions to the development of the mechanical equipment industry at the '2026 Mechanical Equipment Day' ceremony held at Seoul Dragon City on the 23rd.

 ○ 'Mechanical Equipment Day' is an event organized to raise awareness of the importance of the mechanical equipment industry and to discover and encourage individuals of merit who have contributed to industrial development and strengthening national competitiveness.

□ Hanbat National University Professor Cho Jin-gyun has contributed to the advancement of domestic mechanical equipment technology and the fostering of professional talent by actively carrying out research and educational activities centering on building services and data center cooling and energy fields.

 ○ In particular, taking high efficiency cooling and energy saving technology for rapidly growing AI data centers as his major research field, he is conducting diverse research ranging from air cooling to next generation cooling technologies such as direct liquid cooling (DLC) and immersion cooling.

 ○ In addition, he has made efforts to link industrial fields with academic research through studies aimed at improving data center energy efficiency and optimizing mechanical equipment systems.

 ○ Furthermore, as an educator in the mechanical equipment field, he is making efforts to ensure that university research achievements lead to technological development in actual industry by fostering professional talent equipped with both practical competency and research competitiveness required in industrial fields, as well as through industry academic cooperation and national research and development projects.

□ Meanwhile, about 500 people, including officials from the government, industry, academia, and research institutes, attended the event on this day, where the role and importance of the mechanical equipment industry as core infrastructure for advanced industries such as AI, semiconductors, and data centers were emphasized through an occasion to share achievements of the mechanical equipment industry and explore future development directions.
