Department Overview and Educational Objectives

Mobile convergence engineering is a practical study that creates mobile convergence technology service using mobile. Based on the theory related to mobile convergence engineering, we will cultivate advanced knowledge specialized in the IoT and mobile communication fields, and aim to foster future human resources who will lead the 4th industrial revolution including big data and artificial intelligence. Emphasis is placed on cultivating professionals who are leading the expansion of major fields and changing fields of application and creating new technologies in the industrial fields. In addition, we are conducting global knowledge research to lead the globalization and informationization and foster creative human resources with the leadership to discover and nurture creative skills through international cooperation.

Areas of Education and Research

The Department of Mobile Convergence Engineering aims to foster creative and flexible experts specialized in the Internet of Things and Mobile Communication fields, harmonizing theories and practices in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution who can enter immediately in the industrial sites, and also provides a globalized advanced training course that proposes creative knowledge to lead international technical standards. Areas of research include mobile communication protocols, communication theory and systems related to implementation, high frequency and amplifier circuit design and systems, convergence-related IoT mobile technology, IT machine design, and big data analysis and machine learning using artificial intelligence. The Department offers a wide range of research majors, and professors in each field are striving for education and research and development by forming industrial cooperation with students.

It is possible for graduates to enter various fields of IoT and mobile communication such as large enterprises, research institutes, public institutions, IoT device / platform application service development and technical support companies, healthcare wearable device / service companies, communication and broadcasting equipment development companies, laser and lidar development companies, defense industry specialty companies, etc.

This department is equipped with the necessary laboratories and equipments for the specialization of technology, such as mobile related technology and converged communication that can be widely used in IoT and home communication, mobile personal area communication, mobile medical care, wireless network, long distance wireless communication and mobile / satellite communication, broadcasting, military communication, exploration, navigation, etc. The faculty members of this department are composed of researchers with abundant laboratory experience and industry experience, and are dedicated to the guidance of graduate students. The prospects are very bright as the depth of technology and the demands of industry are increasing as the social service demand and industrial necessity in the above fields are expanded.
