The Doors of Buildings in HBNU Will Be Opened for 24 Hours
By Kim Min-joong Cub reporter, Junior of Mechanical Engineering
Have you ever experienced leaving of a building for a while and then trying to get back in, but the door is locked and you can’t get in? Many people suffered this inconvenience until last year. For students who worked late at night, they had no choice but to return home if the door was locked at 12 a.m.. This semester, the problem has been solved by the student council’s pledge.
If the building is open for 24 hours a day, it can potentially be used as a place to provide outsiders’s access, or even for crimes. The system that closes the building at 12a.m. has not changed, but the students who have business at the building can enter through an application (HBNU Mobile Access Management) that allows only HBNU students to control the door. This application controls the door through bluetooth, and the visitors are automatically recorded by the computer system, so the building can remain safe. In addition, due to COVID-19, it is not possible to enter the building for those who have symptoms or have not been diagnosed in the daily self-diagnosis in the application.
The inconvenience that was made because of locked doors at 12a.m. has disappeared. Because of this, People are free to enter and leave the building at night, and employees can do their work overtime. Also, students will be able to use the classrooms for as long as they want, so they will be able to focus more on their studies.
